Television finally becomes interactive with Tata Sky
1700 cities and 4 channels added to launch offer
Mumbai, India – August 22, 2006: Tata Sky, the satellite television service from TATA and STAR, today, announced the launch of Actve Games, its dedicated interactive gaming service, which will be available free to all its subscribers. The service is expected to enhance entertainment options for viewers by allowing them to play multiple interactive games on television. Actve Games marks the launch of the fifth interactive service on the Tata Sky platform.
Actve Games presents viewers from the ages of 7-70 years with the option of playing six exciting interactive games including Aliens, Trance, Solitaire, Cubix, Bug Blaster and Speed Spell on their television screen. This easy-to-use service can be played with the help of the simple Tata Sky remote, eliminating the need of investing in additional hardware. Further, to maintain the enthusiasm levels of its audiences, Tata Sky will refresh the games periodically.
Tata Sky has been a forerunner in introducing new-age interactive services such as Actve Newsroom, Actve Khabar, Actve STAR News and an on-screen guide. The first of its kind, Actve STAR News is an innovative service which allows the viewer to take control of how and when he wishes to watch the news. The service presents the viewer with four screens in a single window allowing him to choose from Current News, Headlines, Top Stories and Special Features, at the press of a button. The service also scrolls text, allowing the viewer to read the headlines, weather updates of 35 cities and a constant update on the stock market.

Tata Sky recently launched its satellite television service across 300 cities in India on 08 August. It has been only 15 days from the launch and the service has already penetrated 2000 cities. Further, Tata Sky has also added four more channels to its Special Introductory Package priced at Rs. 200 p.m. (all taxes included). Currently, the service has on offer channels from top broadcasters in the country including STAR, Sony, Discovery, Disney, MTV, NDTV, ESPN STAR Sports, National Geographic, Eenadu, TV Today, Asianet and many more.
